William Haines

William Haines was an American actor who became a Hollywood star in the late 1920s and early 1930s. In 1933 he was caught having sex with a US Marine and MGM tore up his contract because Haines refused to deny he was gay. He then went on to become a very successful interior designer who catered to the wealthy and famous – including Joan Crawford and Gloria Swanson.
